Introduction.
The Frigga Hotel pulsed with life, it was a world of elegance. Guests wheeled suitcases through the gleaming marble-floored lobby, attendants discreetly bustled about, and the scent of fresh linens wafted from the housekeeping wing.
The Hotel had always prided itself on excellence. Nestled in the heart of the city, it wasn’t just a place for weary travelers to rest but a sanctuary of impeccable service and comfort. Behind its polished floors, plush guest suites, and sparkling chandeliers, an unsung group of heroes ensured every detail was perfect: the housekeeping team. They were the silent architects of comfort, the ones who transformed chaos into order before a guest even stepped foot into their suite.
At the helm of this critical department was Agita, a housekeeping supervisor with over a decade of experience. Known for her meticulous standards, warm leadership, and ability to turn chaos into calm, Agita had become the cornerstone of the department. To her, supervising wasn’t just about managing—it was about inspiring the team to take pride in their work and nurturing an environment where everyone could succeed.
But now, Agita’s time at the Frigga was coming to an end. After years of service, she had decided to move closer to her family, leaving behind a team that had come to depend on her steady presence. The news had unsettled the team. Who will possibly fill her shoes? The answer was Alex.
The Director of the Department, Iwona, had promoted Alex to take her place. Alex had been a room attendant for three years, known for his diligence and positive attitude, but the leap to supervisor was daunting. Many wondered if he could fill Agita’s shoes, including Alex himself.
Agita, however, had no doubts. “Everyone deserves a chance to grow,” she told to Iwona when she shared her concerns. “Alex has potential—it’s my job to help him see it in himself.”
And so, it was decided: Agita would spend her last 13 days at the hotel mentoring Alex, equipping him with the skills, mindset, and confidence to lead.
Day 1. Leading with Purpose: Crafting Your Team’s Future.
The sunlight filtered through the wide hotel lobby windows as Agita walked briskly toward the housekeeping office, Alex trailing behind her. His first day as a supervisor-in-training had already made him feel butterflies in his stomach. As he entered the office, the familiar scent of cleaning supplies and freshly laundered linen greeted him.
“Good morning, Alex!” Agita said, setting her clipboard down. “First things first—trust. It’s the foundation for everything we’ll build with your team.”
Alex tilted his head, curious. “Trust? Like getting them to follow instructions?”
Agita chuckled. “It’s not about them doing what you say. It’s about them believing you have their best interests at heart. Come on, I’ll show you.”
